The roots of The Canteen Tap House & Tavern stretch back more than 35 years to a time when three friends—George, Mike, and Greg—first met in Breckenridge. Fresh out of college and drawn to the mountains, they spent their days on the slopes of Summit County, skiing the legendary terrain that draws outdoor enthusiasts from all over the world. By night, they slung drinks and shared laughs at the local watering holes, bonding over their love of the mountains and the vibrant community of Breckenridge.

Those days on the hill and behind the bar weren’t just about fun; they planted the seeds for a shared vision—creating a place where locals and visitors could gather to enjoy great food, craft beverages, and exceptional service, all in a laid-back, inviting atmosphere. After years of honing their craft and cultivating deep ties within the community, George, Mike, and Greg took the leap and opened The Canteen Tap House & Tavern in 2014.
